Indian troops - possibly from the 7th (Meerut) Division - march along 'New Street' in Baghdad. Only a few locals are evident.III. 'Admiralty Official Film. OUR ISLAND'S RAMPARTS. A wonderful and stirring panorama of the citadels afloat which guard the Empire's heart.' LS broad on the port quarter of a St Vincent Class battleship, and pan right to HMS Neptune and a second St Vincent. XLS off port bow of Queen Elizabeth and Orion Class battleships. MLS off the port bow of a Queen Elizabeth, a trawler lying nearby - lower boom of the cameraship intrudes from frame right.IV. 'HOSPITAL FOR AEROPLANES. How British 'planes winged by Boche bullets are got ready for action again behind the lines.' MS as wing and tail section of BE 2c 2059 are taken into a hangar. Aircraft fuselages are recovered. A wing section is placed on a trestle ready to be worked upon. MS of an already extensively cannibalised BE 2c lying nosed over. Men take more parts away from aircraft scrapyard.V. 'SUICIDE CORNER. Australians having worked round this dangerous spot of evil name bring one of their 18 pounders into action.' A working party moves up carrying water cans, boxes of Mills bombs, rolls of barbed wire, etc. Some glance round at the camera as they pass. Rear view of an 18-pounder gun in a sandbagged emplacement, empty cartridge cases stacked neatly in the foreground - the gun crew (one wearing a pickelhaube) take up their positions - the gun layer arranging a spare sandbag as a cushion for himself. The gun fires three times.
